Oppo A7 Pro listing confirms specs, and this budget phone is looking surprisingly serious

An IP69K rating on a phone that’s expected to cost under 2,000 Yuan. That’s the detail that caught my attention. Most phones at this price tier barely scrape IP54, so if Oppo actually delivers on that protection claim, the A7 Pro could be a real option for people who work outdoors or just have a habit of dropping things in puddles. The phone’s official listing has now confirmed its key specs, memory configurations, and features ahead of its September 11 China launch.

So here’s what we’re working with. The A7 Pro has an OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, which isn’t shocking at this tier anymore but is still very welcome. OLED means proper blacks and solid contrast, and 120Hz makes everyday scrolling feel fluid. Neither spec is exotic in 2026, but together they set a decent baseline for a phone targeting value-conscious buyers.

The IP69K rating is the headline, though. IP68 is the standard waterproofing badge most phones use, which covers submersion up to a certain depth. IP69K goes further, covering protection against high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. That’s a spec you usually see on rugged phones that look like they were designed for a construction site. Oppo pairing it with a clean consumer design is a real differentiator. The company also says the phone has a reinforced build for drop resistance, which fits the overall tough-phone pitch.

On the software side, the A7 Pro runs ColorOS 16 and includes a set of AI-powered fraud protection tools. We’re talking scam-call warnings, real-time face-swap detection during calls, and cross-app scam recognition. Scam calls and deepfake fraud are a genuine and growing problem, especially in Southeast and East Asian markets where Oppo has strong reach. Putting these tools at the OS level rather than making them a third-party app download is a smart move, and it’s the kind of feature that actually matters to everyday users more than, say, a slightly faster chipset.

The phone comes in three colors: Riding the Waves (white), Every Step Blossoms (pink), and Desert Brown. That brown option in particular looks like a nod to the earthy, muted tones that have been trending across mid-range phones lately. Color naming in this segment has gotten very poetic, clearly.

  • OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate
  • IP69K dust and water protection rating
  • Reinforced drop-resistant build
  • ColorOS 16 with AI scam and fraud detection
  • Three color options: white, pink, and Desert Brown
  • Expected price under 2,000 Yuan
  • China launch set for September 11

Pricing is still officially unconfirmed, but the under-2,000 Yuan expectation puts it roughly in the $275 range. At that price, the IP69K rating alone would make it stand out. Most competitors in this bracket are still pushing bigger cameras or flashier designs as their main hook. Oppo is betting on durability and safety features, and that’s actually a smarter pitch for a wider audience.

Whether this stays China-only or gets a broader rollout is the real question. Oppo has been selective about which A-series phones travel internationally. But with features like AI fraud protection that are genuinely useful across multiple markets, there’s a case to be made for a wider release. We’ll know more after September 11.
