A leatherette case shaped like a Hogwarts student travel trunk. Brass-finish corner rivets. A woven lanyard. Realme is not doing things halfway with this one. The company has launched the Buds T500 Pro Harry Potter Edition in India, and it is, without question, the most theatrical pair of earbuds to hit the market this year.
Priced at ?6,999 (roughly $73), the special edition went on sale September 22nd through Realme’s website and partner retail channels. That’s genuinely competitive pricing for what’s on offer here, and it’s worth paying attention to because the hardware underneath all the Hogwarts cosplay is actually pretty solid.
The earbuds come in a Magic Brown colorway with dark brown housings, gold-trimmed brushed stems engraved with Hogwarts crests, and matching brown silicone tips. The charging case gets a faux leather finish in dark coffee-brown with a prominent gold Hogwarts crest on the front and a laser-engraved “Welcome to Hogwarts” inscription on the hinge. And then there’s that auxiliary trunk case, which comes with brass corner rivets, retention straps, and a franchise charm. Realme clearly leaned all the way into this collaboration, which already expanded into the Realme 16 Pro 5G smartphone earlier this year as part of its ongoing licensing deal with Warner Bros. Discovery.
On the software side, the Realme Link app gets custom Harry Potter UI pop-ups, unique connection sound effects, and franchise-inspired audio presets. Fun additions for fans, but not essential features by any stretch.
Here’s the part that actually matters though. Strip away the themed packaging and the Buds T500 Pro Harry Potter Edition runs on exactly the same hardware as the standard T500 Pro. That means 12.4mm dynamic drivers, LHDC 5.0 support with audio transmission up to 24-bit/96kHz, and Hi-Res Wireless Audio certification. These are specs you’d normally see at a higher price point, so getting them at $73 is a real win.
The ANC setup is the headline spec. Realme claims up to 50dB of noise cancellation using a hybrid system with a 5,000Hz frequency range and AI-based real-time fit compensation that adjusts on the fly depending on how the earbuds sit in your ears. That’s a meaningful feature, not a checkbox.
Battery life looks strong too. Key specs at a glance:
- 56 hours total playback with ANC off (using the 530mAh case)
- 13.5 hours per earbud on a single charge (62mAh each)
- Six microphones for call noise reduction
- Bluetooth 6.1 with 45ms low-latency mode
- Multipoint connectivity across up to three devices
- IP55 water and dust resistance
- Two-way Live Translator and MindFlow focus mode
Bluetooth 6.1 is still a relatively fresh standard in the consumer earbud space, and multipoint across three devices is genuinely useful for anyone juggling a phone, laptop, and tablet. So beyond the franchise appeal, these hold their own as a daily driver.
The bigger picture here is that branded collaborations are becoming a real strategy in mid-range audio, not just a gimmick tier. Brands are realizing that fans will pay for personality when the core product is already good. Realme is betting that Harry Potter fans who want solid ANC earbuds might just pick these over a generic alternative, and honestly, that’s not a bad bet. At $73, you’re not paying a premium for the branding. The price is fair for the specs alone, and the design is a free bonus if you’re into it.
Is this for everyone? Obviously not. But if you’re a Potterhead who also happens to want a capable pair of earbuds with strong ANC and real hi-res audio support, Realme just made the decision pretty easy.
