Our friends over at Electricpig.co.uk have been all over the new Archos device – the (Android-powered) Archos 5 Internet Tablet. Apparently Archos let pretty much all the info go at the press release, so there are lots of pics, and lots of info:

As expected, the Archos 5 Internet Tablet comes crammed with Wi-Fi, a 800×480 screen and up to an epic 500GB of storage. In the hand, it’s much slimmer than you’d expect, and typing is easy enough in widescreen. The triple homescreen effect isn’t as well executed as HTC’s Sense UI for Android, but it’s at a sharper resolution, and you can even hook the Archos 5 Internet Tablet up to a TV for Android on the big screen.
Videos look great, but the same reservations we’ve always had with Archos apply: at 5-inches, the Archos 5 Internet Tablet is still much harder to cram into a pocket than an iPod touch. The Archos 5 Internet Tablet is out later this month, but for now go and take a look at the extensive image selection on the Electricpig.co.uk site!
