I know many have been waiting ever-so-patiently for a native webOS e-book reader to pop up in the App Catalog… with no luck so far. Sadly, if you need an e-book reader you’ll need to use a legacy PalmOS e-book reader in Classic. Doable, but certainly not the most convenient thing, especially for those of us a little less tech-savvy.
On the sunny side, it appears as though many e-book readers are indeed in development for webOS. My bud Jason over at PreCentral has learned that a few readers are in the works, including a new eReader app! When asked to comment on a webOS version of the eReader app, the folks over there commented:
We are currently in the process of porting our reading software to the Palm Pre platform, webOS. However, we cannot announce a release date at this time. Any announcements about new releases of our software will be in future issues of the eReader.com Newsletter.

I should note… If you can’t wait for a native e-book reader, you may want to check out Shortcovers. It’s not a full-featured e-book reader in my opinion… But it’ll tide you over.
