Acer to launch BREW-powered phones next year, too?

We’ve already talked about HTC’s plans to release BREW-powered handsets, which will most likely target low and mid range of the market, and now we have another player interested to adopt Qualcomm’s mobile platform. It’s Acer, which seems to plan assaults on multiple fronts – Windows Mobile, Android and BREW!

We got the information from DigiTimes’ article which says the Taiwanese company will launch 8-10 smartphones in 2010. From there we also learn that Acer will rely on ST-Ericsson 6719 3G chipset solutions for entry-level Android smartphones, while Qualcomm’s Snapdragon will expectedly be used for high-end models. I’m presuming we’ll have much more details to share on the subject during the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. If you remember, last year the company unveiled 8 WinMo smartphones at a single event, which was followed by a delicious meal. So you see, we love Acer on many levels! 😉
