Apple spending $275 million to buy mobile advertising company Quattro Wireless

Massachusetts based Quattro Wireless, a competitor to AdMob that was recently bought up by Google to the tune of $750 million, was purchased by Apple for $275 million according to sources that have informed Kara Swisher from The Wall Street Journal. While Google is busy making blue text that only 1 out of every 100 or so people click, and then paying out pennies on the dollar, Apple will be in a position to make an ad network that strictly targets their iPhone and iPod Touch users. Apple already enjoys 40% margins on hardware, so it’s confusing to me as to why they’d do this, but I’m sure during the next quarter conference call everything will be explained.
