Samsung is on the big “do good” PR campaign in the U.S. The company has pledged to collect 1 million mobile phones for recycling in 2010.

The name of the game is “March to a Million” and right from the bat the Korean company is reaching over 7 million students in approximately 9,500 schools. The program will educate teens about the importance and ease of mobile phone recycling, with schools having the opportunity to enter a sweepstakes to win either a VIP concert from the alternative rock band “Hey Monday,” or one of fifty $1,000 “Green Grants” to put towards making their school more environmentally friendly.

The campaign is part of Samsung’s Eco-Management 2013 Plan, which includes the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from manufacturing, development of eco-friendly products, financial investment in eco-management initiatives and enhanced green partnerships with suppliers and partners.

Finally, Samsung Mobile (and we at IntoMobile, for that matter) urges Americans to recycle their mobile phones during this year’s Plug-In To eCycling National Cell Phone Recycling Week, which kicks off on April 5th.
