Verizon ships HTC Droid Incredible a little early to incredibly lucky few pre-orderers

Did you pre-order your Verizon Droid Incredible earlier this week? Well, if you haven’t yet put in our order for HTC’s latest and greatest Android phone, this latest bit of news might be good motivation to do so. Turns out, despite plastering an April 29 launch date all over the place, Verizon has already started shipping the HTC Incredible to a group of incredibly lucky pre-orderers. With the official launch still more than a week away, we thought we’d be playing with this new Verizon smartphone all by our lonesome. We were wrong.

Normally, when we see people claiming to have access to a handset that has yet to go official, we put on our skeptical hats. But, when those people post video of them unboxing said handset, we tend to listen. That’s what happened in this case. The video you see here shows a random Verizon customer unboxing their brand-new HTC Droid Incredible – which is referred to as simply the “Incredible” on the retail packaging, by the way – and showing off their new toy to the Android-loving world.

We’ve been playing with the Incredible, excuse us, Droid Incredible, for about a week now, and we’re really impressed with its speed and feature-set. Quick recap, the HTC Incredible rocks a 1Ghz Snapdragon processor (which makes quick work of any UI animations, camera, photo gallery, etc.), a 3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, an 8-megapixel camera (with dual-LED flash and touch-focus), 3G data, WiFi, GPS, hot-swappable microSD card slot, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It runs Android 2.1 OS with HTC’s custom Sense UI skinned atop.

In fact, it’s such a good Android phone, that we’d be jealous of these lucky Incredible pre-orderers if we didn’t already have one in our own hands. Actually, we’re still a little jealous.

Check out our own review here. Below is our own unboxing video.
