We’ve all seen smartphone tear-downs and dissections on the web. There aren’t too many things that can get our blood going like a high-end smartphone’s guts being splayed out in high-res photos. To that end, we’ve just stumbled upon a video dissection that pretty much takes the cake. The Verizon Droid Incredible, made by HTC, has been given the tear-down treatment, and it’s all on HD video. What’s more, it’s a stop-motion video with some high production value.
The tear-down video starts off with a stop-motion unboxing. It then takes you through a short, but sweet, overview of the Droid Incredible software – the Android 2.1 OS and its Sense UI. The video continues by dismantling the device down to its frame, with components seemingly crawling off the mainboard. It’s all set against a electronica musical background, which definitely plays to our geeky side. The video wraps up with the Incredible being put back together in high-speed.
We have to wonder how much time it took to film this dissection. It must have been a painstaking process to remove each component and ensure that the Incredible was positioned in the same exact place after removing every single screw and ribbon cable. Props to TechRestore for making our day!
