Sprint took to the mean streets of New York City to launch their flagship Android phone today – the Sprint HTC EVO 4G. IntoMobile put boots on the ground to live blog the launch event and we managed to take some video of Sprint’s adorably cheesy on-stage demonstration.

In their presentation, Sprint showed off the EVO 4G’s headlining features: the enviable 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen, the 8-megapixel camera, the speedy 4G data connection, the front-facing video call camera, 720p HD video recording, and of course the EVO’s ability to stream HD video to a TV through its integrated HDMI port. Unfortunately, Sprint’s live demo of the 2-way video call feature drank some fail-juice and didn’t get demoed on stage.

The video shows all this better than we can explain here, so hit the play button below and enjoy!

Oh, and in case you were wondering, Sprint does not officially have their 4G network up and running in The Big Apple. The carrier lit up a mobile 4G cell tower to bring their high-speed mobile broadband data network to a little corner of NYC, namely, the Espace building.

If you’re interested, you can find the live blog here.
