Firefly Mobile, the handset manufacturer that we all know and love for their kid-oriented mobile phone, has just put a new handset through the FCC‘s testing ritual. In stark contrast to their initial offering, the new Firefly “flyPhone” (hmm, that’s name sounds strangely familiar, doesn’t it?) features some pretty trick features. The keypad is replaced by a touch-sensitive panel that re-configures its key-layout according to the phone’s current mode.

Watch a movie or play music, and you get media controls; start playing a game, and you get gaming control; make a call, and you get a number-pad. For a phone aimed at the Playskool-set, this thing’s got some pretty trick features – it even has a camera.
Wow, kids these days have it good.
