T-Mobile building hype ahead of MyTouch 3G Slide launch

The MyTouch Slide looks like it may in fact be T-Mobile’s biggest launch to ever exist. In continuing with the MyTouch brand name, the MyTouch Slide will surely have a even greater marketing push than its predecessor. And, since it’s a more powerful device, I’d expect this to sell even better.

Below you’ll find many slides of  the MyTouch Franchise launch. This is exciting news for not-so-big US Magenta, as they sorely need an attention-grabbing Android phone. And, attention it will get. Just like the original MyTouch 3G, there’s likely to be an incessant marketing campaign around the device. But more over, T-Mobile will be pushing the MyTouch name as well, calling it an “opportunity to build a suite of smartphones that unite families.” T-Mobile has always had the more family oriented mindset, and I think that the push of the MyTouch brand may appeal to them.

T-Mobile is also saying that the MyTouch Slide is the first phone “Truly designed for family customers.” That’s an interesting way to put it, but I do believe that the Slide is versatile enough to appeal to many different people. However, those looking for an absolute power machine within the Slide will end up disappointed. The device is still considered a mid-ranged device, thanks to all of the 1GHz-powered Android phones available today, but the Slide is definitely an adequate device to consider if you’re on T-Mobile. This may be the device that Sidekick users eventually upgrade to when they start looking for a new phone.

Just like the original, the MyTouch Slide will receive a boat load of device-specific accessories as well. Sales representatives have been told to shoot for three or more accessory purchases when a customer comes into buy the Slide. T-Mobile stores will be MyTouch central, sporting large, interactive display units, as well as the center ‘island’ you see when you walk into one of the stores will be drenched in MyTouch posters.

T-Mobile may surely have a hit on their hands, by their own standards, of course. I’m now really excited to see what kind of reception the Slide gets from customers. Be sure to check out our myTouch Slide unboxing gallery here.
