Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars hit the iPhone App Store earlier this year and it certainly left a positive impression of what kind of game experiences can be delivered on the iPhone. The iPhone version of GTA: Chinatown Wars is a port of the Nintendo DS version, but with some enhancements to its graphics similar to the PSP version. If you’ve never played it on either the Nintendo DS or PSP, then its $9.99 price point might make it hard for most iPhone gamers to take that leap of faith. Lucky for you, Rockstar Games has just released a ‘Lite’ version of GTA:CW.
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars Lite has you playing just the first three missions of the game, but that should be enough to see if you enjoy how the game performs on your iPhone. When you consider how much game you can get out of GTA:CW on the iPhone at its $9.99 price point, I could easily recommend the game even if a Lite version wasn’t released. It’s just that good.
Now all we need is an iPad version and I’ll be a happy camper. Your move, Rockstar Games.
