A week or so ago, Ubisoft announced they’d be releasing a classic version of Prince of Persia for the iPhone sometime in “Late June”. There weren’t many details surrounding the game, to which I theorized it could very well be Prince of Persia Classic, which was released originally on the Xbox LIVE Arcade back in June 2007. Boy, was I way off.
Ubisoft has indeed released a classic version of Prince of Persia, except we’re in late May. I also had no idea they’d go full retro and offer the original Prince of Persia on the iPhone for just $.99. Not only is this fantastic game dirt cheap, but it turns out it’s also a universal iPhone / iPad app meaning if you purchase the game on one device, you’ll be able to play it on the other. Think of it this way. You’re actually paying $.50 for each version of the game. That’s one hell of a bargain for such an amazingly influential game.
