A9 – fake Audi TT mobile phone from China

August 8, 2007 by Dusan Belic - 9 Comments

What better example could we showcase for the lack of inspiration? Following Jaguar, BMW and Porsche Cayenne, we now present you with the A9 – Audi TT mobile phone. Although, Audi logo is nowhere present on this device, the shape of the car/phone clearly suggests its the famous roadster (previous model).

What happens when rip-off artists run out of ideas – an ugly mish-mash flip/candybar phone

July 25, 2007 by Will Park - Leave a Comment

This just might be the worst phone we’ve ever seen. Not just in terms of design and form-factor, but also in terms of nonsensically ripping off trademarks. Of course it’s from China, but that’s not the point. This thing might be the result of knock-off artists having run out of ideas (well, things to copy,…

CECT rips off the Apple iPhone, again – CECT 599

July 25, 2007 by Will Park - 163 Comments

If you’re in China, and you’ve got a case of iPhone envy, you really don’t have any other option than to go the knock-off route. CECT, one of the most prolific rip-off artists in China (the world?), has released another Apple iPhone clone. Apparently, the CECT P168 wasn’t enough for the clone factory, they had…

The Sony Ericsson T650 hasn’t even come out yet, but it has already been cloned in China

July 21, 2007 by Stefan Constantinescu - 1 Comment

One of these days I need to visit the land where copyrights are laughed at. Things like this amaze me. With a 2.2 inch 176×220 display, 1500 mAh battery life, microSD support and partly dimensions of only 101x42x10 mm I bet you wouldn’t be able to tell this was a clone if you just happened…

Looney Tunes mobile phone – kind of

July 12, 2007 by Will Park - 2 Comments

Warner Bros. lawyers, start your engines! We’re sure the legal team at WB is none too happy to see this Chinese-made (of course) “Looney Tunes” mobile phone from ZTC. The 10.9mm thick candybar phone packs an incredible 1.3 megapixel camera, swappable back panel (depicting a copyright-infringing Bugs Bunny) and an amazing Looney Tunes themed UI.…

CECTC2000 – CECT clones the Sony Ericsson W660

July 5, 2007 by Will Park - 2 Comments

We can’t get enough from Chinese knock-off artists, CECT. Well, actually, we can (and have) had enough from them, but they just don’t seem to be able to take a hint. We think some sort of success in the Chinese market may be driving their efforts. Either way, what we have here is the CECTC2000…

Nolka N90: When the Chinese force a Nokia N95 and Sony Ericsson P990i to reproduce

June 29, 2007 by Stefan Constantinescu - 6 Comments

Not much to say about this blatant violation of copyright laws. It has a 2.6 inch screen with 260,000 colors, 1.3 megapixel camera and weighs less than 85 grams. Too bad it doesn’t have a QWERTY keyboard, it might not have sucked so hard. [Via: Just Another Mobile Phone Blog]
