LG’s Brazilian arm has announced that few of the company’s older phones will get KitKat updates in the near future. Among those “affected” are the LG Optimus G, Optimus G Pro, L7 II and dual-SIM G Pro Lite. Some others won’t be so lucky though, including the LG Optimus 4X HD and Optimus F5. The…

ASUS Padfone 2 KitKat update

ASUS has started rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat update for the aging Padfone 2, which will go straight from Jelly Bean 4.1 to the latest version of Android. Alas, this comes with a caveat and users will see their data disappearing like it’s nobody’s business. Something gotta give I guess; but we’re certain installing all…

Oppo N1 gets cloned

We don’t get to see clones of the Chinese phones that often. Usually, we have fake iPhones and knock-offs of popular Samsung and HTC devices, not fake China-made phones. That’s not the case with the iNew V8, which is a new “variant” of the Oppo N1 — that’s right, in a weird twist of events…

Google won't allow Android Auto, Android Wear and Android TV customizations

The newly released Android “sub-platforms” — Android Auto, Android Wear and Android TV — may be based on Google’s mobile OS, but they won’t allow OEMs to change stuff around. Forget about TouchWIZ and Sense UI – Samsung and HTC (respectively) won’t be able to do those sort of things with their car, watch and…

Samsung Galaxy S5 with Tizen OS in works?

Samsung may be working on a Tizen-based Galaxy S5 or at least such device has been caught at the Zauba website which tracks imports to India. They list not one but three Galaxy S5 units running Sammy’s own platform rather than Android. It’s unclear whether this device will actually be released or Samsung just wants…

Volvo, Honda and Hyundai to make their cars sing along both iPhone and Android

The other day, Google announced its Android Auto platform and the first thing that came to mind is how it will sing along iPhones. There are plenty of families with members who have different phones, some of which may run iOS and some others – Android. It’s only obvious car makers want to make everyone…

Blu Products launches KitKat updates for few of its phones

July 2, 2014 by Dusan Belic - 3 Comments

Blu Products has started rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat updates for few of its phones, including the Life Play, Life 8, Dash 5.0, Dash 5.5, Vivo IV, Neo 4.5, Studio 5.5 and Studio 6.0 HD. While we applaud the move to upgrade from Android 4.2.2, we can't help but notice that some of the newer Blu devices are not on the list. For one thing, we would expect to see the powerful Life Pure XL getting the spot in the first batch. Here's what Blu had to say about the move on its Facebook page: Dear BLU Fans, here are the models confirmed that will support Kit Kat upgrade. We're putting the final touches on testing and will begin releasing these in the coming days, one at a time. If your device is not supported at this time, we will do our best to do so in the future. We hope this clears the air on questions as to which devices will be supported with Kit Kat upgrades. Please remember BLU is always working hard to make our customers happy and constantly improving, unfortunately sometimes things take time. Thanks for your patience. Now that some devices have started getting the goodies, it's only a matter of days (or weeks) before every newer Blu phone gets to taste the KitKat...
