Nokia Research Center’s SensorPlanet project organizes the new kind of real-life game where approximately 250 players run around Manhattan, New York City with their Nokia N80 smartphone and take photos that illustrate words in stories written by other players and the visitors of the official game’s site. The resulting illustrated stories are shown on large public signs in Times Square in real-time and on the site.

Manhattan Story Mashup

People from the Nokia Research say that they are interested in combining the physical and the virtual worlds through new ways of sensing. As it happens, lots of people always carry a mobile phone with them, making it a perfect platform for this job.

Manhattan Story Mashup happens on Saturday, 23rd of September, and promises lots of fun for the players!
