So far, we’ve all learned that Nokia N95 is the best announced smartphone (”multimedia computer”). And we had a bunch of video previews to virtually experience the joy of using this magnificent device.
This time, thanks to the Nseries WOM World, we’ve found a Russian site Sotovik, which made series of photos comparing N95 with some other devices including Nokia (NYSE: NOK) N73, 9300i and E70.

Plus, GSM arena’s forum has an interesting discussion with a useful table comparing high-end smartphones. Guess who tops?

In Research
Growth in the EMEA smart mobile device market in Q3 rose slightly from the previous quarter, but remains well below the 100%-plus rates seen for most of last year. Nokia (NYSE: NOK)’s lead, achieved largely through shipments of its consumer-focused Symbian S60 devices, remains comfortable. With new UIQ models shipping last quarter, fellow Symbian-based vendor Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) re-entered the top five (in fourth place) after a long absence, helping take Symbian’s market share up to 78.7% from 76.6% a year earlier.

Few days ago I read about Samsung’s upcoming SCH-U710 phone. This is NOT a Symbian device, but it does have one interesting feature. What I’m talking about is its unique keyboard. The SCH-U710 sports both numerical and QWERTY characters, with latter being used when the device is flipped on the side. This sort of feature is something that many of us (Symbian OS handset users) would like to see in some next N93 device – so we could combine both business and personal life. What do you think?

After ten-month development, SymTorrent – the first full-featured and complete BitTorrent client for Symbian OS S60 3rd edition devices, is now available for download. The application allows both downloading and uploading with resuming. You can also check the status of each file inside a torrent, along with several other statistics and properties during download.
SymTorrent is free (and open source) software and is distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License.

Just when I wrote about Nokia (NYSE: NOK) 330, a photo of the new Nokia non-phone device appeared on the Web. Apparently it’s 770’s successor – the upcoming Nokia 870 or 880 Internet Tablet. Earlier this year, Nokia suggested that their next Internet Tablet will sport a webcam and WiMAX connectivity. The latter seems too early, but who knows.

As far as I can tell, I like the form factor and would use it myself. Furthermore, I hope that we’ll see both this device and 330, presented at the Nokia World coming next month in the Netherlands.
UPDATE: Engadget has more spyshots. It seems that the next Internet tablet will sport a camera.

Some time ago, e61life had a Theme Contest. Well, now we have the winners. But before I write anything about the winners, you should know that the Turquoise theme hadn’t qualified for contest. It’s understandable since it’s Nokia (NYSE: NOK)’s theme and it would make the contest boring.

Daniel (from e61life) made the right decision, and now we have not one, but three winning themes. They are (in the order of appearance): Kooky Phone Light, Pearl Black and Inferno.

Nokia (NYSE: NOK) has just introduced an interesting package. The new bundle consists of N93 “multimedia computer” and Mission Impossible 3 (M:i:III) movie. Unlike Nokia’s previous N93 golf edition package, where the golf software was pre-installed on the existing memory card, Mission Impossible 3 comes on the separate 512MB miniSD memory.

The full length film runs at 25 frames per second, and you can rewind, fast forward, stop and continue watching the movie anytime. It will be available, with no additional cost to consumers in Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Turkey and the UK, making it the perfect holiday gift.

Too many things to see, and so little time. I wasn’t able to attend this year’s 3GSM Asia. But, then again – it’s not Symbian Smartphone Show and most of the things happening there are not that interesting for me anyway. However, here are some links from the people who were there.
S60 blogs’ Jouni has a good review of the show. From here you can see the photos of the S60 booth at the event. Finally, N80 Geek did a review of the S60’s exhibit at the 3GSM Asia.

This is becoming a habit – to point to the cool posts on the E-Series blog. This time they found print ads for the Nokia E62, launched last month in the U.S. market.

Along with the E-Series blog crew, I also hope that this will result in many more applications and services optimized for the Nokia (NYSE: NOK) E61/E62.
