Finally, a firmware update for Nokia Series 80-based devices. The AllAboutSymbian guys even think this is a final lease of life for the platform.
Of course, the update is NOT available online. In order to refresh their devices, Nokia 9300/9300i/9500 smartphone owners must visit an official Nokia service center.
The new firmware (v6.27) update includes:
- Messaging: the smallest zoom level now shows 4 lines, faster opening of SMS and email messages
- The device lock can now be activated without a password
- New browser engine, web navigation to next link by using tab key added
- 2GB memory card support
- Java application memory handling improved
- Video/music playback improved
- General stability improved
