For the past 3 days my cycle has been study, exam, come home, pass out! Looks like it got the best of me, Ed from e-series.org beat me to posting a review of the brand spanking new Reuters application. He does a good job and it’s worth checking it out just for the screenshots alone.

Now as for my own personal review: This is the first Flash Lite application I have ever run in my life. It was stunning, simply stunning. Beautiful as can be. Sadly it turned out to be a pretty girl with a lobotomy in disguise. Once you get passed the bling you realize how horrible this application is. First of all there is practically a sentence on every page, so you have to scroll A LOT. Some stories just have a brief summary listed and that’s it!

Do I recommend you install this on your phone? Absolutely not

What do I recommend? Install Opera Mini, go to Reuters.com and subscribe to an RSS feed of your choice

So much for this being my first Flash Lite application, I can see this languages potential but right now it’s more for show then for actual use. Hey Alessandro, want to write an RSS reader in Flash?

    LOL! I like your review.
I’ve never been a big fan of Flash. Not on the web and not on applications. It strikes me as too much shiny surface and not enough substance.

Flash, when used properly, can be a-freaking-mazing, but people over do it and try to be all artsy fartsy about it. As pretty as you can make an application, in the end it’s all about how easy it lets you access, input, and manipulate data.

I’m still jealous you beat me to the review, much less I was in the process of taking screenshots when I had a sudden urge to go to the bathroom, so I decided to check my RSS reader [thank you ThinkPad and WiFi] and noticed your review!

Tempting offer, but I would want a general purpose one, not blog specific. Google reader has some API’s you know … time to get to work ;)

    Thanks for the link
