First things first, if you haven’t seen Steve’s unboxing video then go do so right now.

This is painful to read:

Listening to Moby, In My Heart, the Nseries theme song.  I plugged in my own headphones and was presented with a choice of:

  • Headphones
  • TV-Out Cable
  • Music stand

Is the Nokia not smart enough to know what it has plugged in? Do I want to tell my phone every time I plug headphones in to it that yes I really do want to use headphones?

I had some trouble figuring out how to turn the video camera on. On the N93 you just flip open the viewfinder and depress the shutter. With the N95, you close up the slider and open the lens cover. It starts off on camera mode and you just press the selection button and you are in video mode. If you are in the music player and want to use the camera, it seems that you have to close and open the lens cover to reactivate the camera. No audio in.

You still have to manually open the lens cover? How inefficient

Here is a short video he shot then uploaded to VOX:

Here is a Flickr side show, 16 high resolution pictures thanks to his Canon Rebel:

lol.. you want a motorized lens cover? what else do you want to waste space and battery life on? :)

  • Stefan Constantinescu

It doesn’t have to be a motor, look how well the Nokia N73 operates.

Nokia is fantastic at designing phones, but they haven’t got the camera portion right yet.

  • Ricky Cadden

I have to agree with Viipottaja. What’s the difference in this little ring-slider and the N73′s massive whole-back cover sliding?

  • Stefan Constantinescu

If casio can do it with the exilim camera then why can’t nokia do it on their phones?

    one button push, no sliders.

Nice job embedding the flickr slide show.

The N95 is so much smaller than the N93, I’ve carried it around all day in my pocket. Not bulky at all.

I still don’t understand what you mean. On N73 you have to slide big slider on the back to take pics, on N95 you have the same effect by sliding the little slide incorporated to the lense casing. What’s the difference? What exactly would you want to have?
