Discretix, the leading provider of Discretixembedded security and DRM solutions for mobile devices and Flash memory, recently announced that it raised $20 million and plans to leverage it in new investment financing to pursue an expanded range of content protection solutions for the consumer and enterprise markets.

Chief among Discretix’ areas of investment is Mobile TV; especially security technologies that provide conditional access for TV content delivered to a mobile device. Into this offering Discretix plans to incorporate its traditional strengths in full device integration, multi-scheme support, and flexible architectures that are “future-proofed” to accommodate new security schemes as they become available.

Among the companies and products leveraging Discretix’ content protection technologies are BenQ’s next generation of feature phones, UIQ Technology’s application development platform for the Symbian operating system, and Opera Software’s Opera Browser.
