James

He posted a gallery with images he’s taken on his Nokia N93. They turned out a lot better than anything I’ve ever seen come out of my N93 or N93i. Bravo, what is your secret?

The EXIF data for all of his images is missing. That can only mean one thing: post production work.

James you may have some fantastic Photoshop skills, but do you think the typical consumer does anything more than move the files from their camera to the web?

Well . . . I’m not sure where to start really . . . I think the first thing to do is a search on Flickr for N93 and N73, because there are lots of amazing shots there, all taken on phones with similar specs to the N93i.

As for Photoshop? Whilst I do indeed poses some PS skills, having been involved in the print trade for over 16 years, I find that a photo is either good, or it’s not. If it’s good, I might make it a bit brighter, or straighten it out, if it’s not good, I’ll dump it!

I use all Apple’s (free with all new Macs) iPhoto for all my modest post processing work, I think you’ll find that most Mac users do the same. It does everything I need apart from some of the special de-noising stuff that Photoshop does, which I have to say, I hardly ever use, as I’m not that fussed about noise.

Oh, and thanks for posting my mug shot!!! Touché! (^_^)
