World ENDS In 2012 Due To Solar Storms!!

Well, maybe not the entire world. But, if NASA doomsayers are on point with their prediction, then my world will end in 2012. Why you ask? Well, NASA is foreseeing that the year 2012 will bring solar storms and flares, the likes of which Earth hasn’t seen since 1958. If we’ve been through this before, why am I so worried about my world ending? Because my world revolves around cell phones and similar gadgets – toys that were not around in the 50′s. While poodle-skirt wearing adolescents of yester-year went about their day unaffected by solar flares, my world will be filled with chaos and havoc when I can’t get any gsm reception or check the local weather on my phone. The horror! Can you see it? Millions of people will be left with no way to instantly text message their friends abut the night’s plans, and will be left wondering what the weather will be, or will be lost for directions to the nearest Starbuck’s. Oh the humanity!

Scientists are saying that the Sun’s surface is eerily devoid of activity at the moment. It’s “Like the quiet before a storm,” says NASA. When the sun’s surface quiets down, we can expect an incredible burst of activity in the form of communications disrupting solar flares and storms. This is referred to as a maxima in an 11-year cycle of sunspots. But there is one glimmer of hope. Scientists are unsure how to predict these maxima and admit that the upcoming maxima in 2012 could be as viscious as in 1958, or as meek as in 1805. We can “expect to see the first sunspots of the next cycle appear in late 2006 or 2007—and Solar Max to be underway by 2010 or 2011,” says David Hathaway of the National Space Science & Technology Center (NSSTC). So get ready or the end of the world, ya’ll! Stock those dry goods ands ammo! I’ll see you in my bunker.

    ok wow… no cellphones…. carry some quarters around with you lol theres plenty of pay phones in the city, and just because theres no wireless electronics doesnt mean the world will end….. just means ur gunna have to use your house phone…. oh no whatever will we do? :P

    Yeah, this could be a problem. i hope scientists are working on a way to combat this! I’m sure by the time it hits we will have a way to block most of the storms effect so it will only cause maybe a week blackout in some places on the planet. They knew about this sence 2006, maybe sooner so they have probably made a few breakthroughs already.

    Actually it is more worse than that. Power generators which come in contact with these solar winds will break their transformers and stop working and transformers cannot be repaired but only replaced and the making of a new transformer takes about a month. Imagine that, no electricity for about a month. I think you what the effects will be on the human population.

    I dunno if someone mentioned this already, but there is a possibility that the solar flare could cause a pole shift on the earth. This means that the north pole and the south poles will literally change places. Basically the earth will turn upside down! Some crazy theroists even say that this change could happen in a day, thats bad….it could cause a mass extinction, the likes of which we have never seen before. I hope this is all bullshit. But sciencists are saying that the next solar storm will probably be a big one, and the polar shift theory states that the poles could shift from a solar flare if it is an insanely powerful one. At this point, No one can say exactly how big the solar flare will be. If it’s as bad as the crazies say it is, then we all have about 3 years to live. (since the next solar storm is said to come in 2012). Make good use of them.

    Make peace with your maker people, the facts are incontraversal, there is indefinite evidence here, ask why the leaders of the world had been creating "safe caves" everywhere from Mount Fuji in Japan, Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa, Ural Mountains in Russia, Rocky Mountains in both America and Canada, and Mt. Sinai, Egypt.

    All areas have high ore density for one main reason, to reflect solar radiation…you know…like Chernobyl???

    It's not like that. A solar storm will knock out ALL electronics and communications. It will knock out transformers and powergrids, without power your home phone won't work. Will, has it wrong, the event in the 1800's launched eastern europe into a mini ice age. This time the US will get the brunt of the storm. The amount of radiation that will bombard our planet could kill all living things if our atmosphere isnt strong enough. Theoretically a storm of this proportion which IS going to happen will set the US back over 100 yrs due to chaos and violence. Imagine all the power grids get knocked out and all phones are disabled. Who is going to call the power company to comeout and fix their transformers? How will the company that makes the transformers make them without power? How will they even know how many are needed or where they are needed?

    It's going to be a shit show of EPIC proportions leaving brother to kill brother over a grain of overcooked rice. JK but it is going to be bad.

    Ohh, come on! How the hell could you be concerned with stupid cell phones when The Earth could even suffer even a poles shift!!! (and I’m saying this as a 16 years old guy…) DO YOU KNOW THAT SOMETHING LIKE THAT WOULD ERASE LIFE ON OUR PLANET??? Also, the lose of electronic devices and a major worldwide power fall should concern us more because of other aspects, like the disappearance of ARTIFICIAL LIGHT, INDUSTRY AND THE PROCESS OF REVERSING BACK THE TIME LINE TO THE 19th century, not cell phones…
    Now, getting back serious, why the hell would you be alarmed about this? Do you really believe that prophecies could ever be accurate, or at least real? Come on, mysticist arts never EVER revealed something to humanity in the past. Back in the medieval era before 1521 (when Magellan finished his expedition and proved that the Earth is round) religion taught us that the earth is flat and the sun rises above it every day. During the ancient times, every possible religion predicted an apocalypse in the future, and now the Mayans tell us that the end of the world is in 2012 and you believe them?
    Yeah, sure, a poles shift might be the end of us, but that is a process which can take thousands of years, (and nobody will be able to say that it starts on a precise date) and until then, we might even be able to live on mars… (since Roscosmos – the Russian space agency – has already demonstrated that the martian dominant gas – argon – can be breed by humans with no problem, and is already planning an exploration trip there in about 5 years!) Practically, it is almost impossible to see the world ending in 2012, but the planet could be affected in other ways (like the destruction of satellites and the fall of telecommunications or very cold weather in an affected region of the planet). Still, all of this would be caused by the SOLAR STORMS, AND WOULD HAVE NO LINK WITH SOME ANCIENT MAYAN PROPHECIES! And to all those who are considering that their life ends without cell phones, wake up brothers! I would love living in ancient Egypt for example, and humans lived and were happy without phones for 10000 years! Why would it be different now? Life is more than something where everything falls in your hands from the sky. In my country, (Romania) after the revolution from 1989 and the fall of the communist regime, (when I was born) almost everything was ruined. Now most of us have cars or laptops but back then, everything we had, raging from infrastructure to communications and television was built by the communists, and since everybody found democracy a lot more “freedom granting” people started stealing everything and chaos and economic recession reigned for a couple of years, so that a big part of the generations born at that time lived their first years with black and white TVs and one single house phone (including me) and were happy too… Now, don’t get my wrong, I love technology, and I would like to see the world advancing towards space exploration, universal health care and advanced robotics rather than falling back in the past, but I could live without it if necessary, since life has much other beauties to share with us, and we shouldn’t deny it in any form.
