gavelNTP has been told to hold its horses in its ongoing fight to sue Palm for patent infringments. NTP is alleging that the wireless email exchange technology that Palm utilizes is actually built on technology patented by NTP. A federal judge has ordered a stay in proceedings to allow time for the USPTO to review the patents in question and make a decision on the validity of NTP’s claims. We all remember a similar situation between Research In Motion and NTP, and we all remember how it came down to a fizzle and a pop with a settlement shutting both sides up. Hopefully everything will settle out the way we’ve seen it happen before. Now, we just have to wait for the USPTO to make its move.
