So far we haven’t seen some clone-phone getting the FCC’s approval. I guess the companies which brands were ripped-off stopped this from happening, by suing the appropriate (Chinese) company, responsible for the copyright infringement.
Now, we have the Huawei C5320, a CDMA handset, approved for the U.S. The device in many ways resembles some of the Sony Ericsson’s low to mid range Walkman-branded handsets, and in that sense it’s strange watching Japanese-Swedish company allowing this to happen.
If everything goes right for the Chinese company, we’ll see this candybar phone hitting the market. And yes, I think it will cost next to nothing.
