ZyXEL V660The maker of the broadband equipment, ZyXEL, jumped to the handset bandwagon with the announcement of the V660 smartphone. The quad-band GSM device runs Windows Mobile 5, has a candybar form factor, and among other things sports integrated WiFi, support for WPA/WPA2/TLS, and Bluetooth connectivity. Interesting thing about this device is that it will automatically use WLAN where available to route phone calls via Internet, instead of the carrier’s network.

The bad thing is the pre-installed Windows Mobile 5. For a just announced device, I would expect the Windows Mobile 6. Still, I guess that could be upgradeable, and hopefully ZyXEL will allow it to happen.
