Just a few thoughts about blogging and work

I’m on my lunch break so I’ll make this brief:

I’m personally dissatisfied with my blogging performance since taking this job. I’ve made a choice to spend my time in the work force gaining experience about the cellular industry (and actually making some money for a change) rather than monkeying around on a computer all day and ignoring my academic responsibilities.

What am I going to do to handle this situation?

First of all I’m saving up for a better computer. I used to have three machines in the house, but I slowly got rid of them after my love for PC gaming died. I’m down to one computer, my laptop.

This thing wasn’t meant to be used as an all day, every day machine. I purchased it because at the time, it fulfilled some basic needs:

  • Extremely light
  • Incredibly small
  • Ridiculous battery life

My three year old IBM Lenovo X40 is starting to show its age and the 1024×768 resolution isn’t really helping my productivity either. Hopefully I’ll have something new after 2 – 3 months. I’m looking at the Thinkpad T series.

I’m also going to wake up earlier. I get most of my reading done early in the morning, but I prefer blogging at night. If I can get in a few posts after breakfast, then why not?!

Just to give you an idea of what I have in my "to blog" queue: The N800 is the latest devices making the rounds in the Nokia Blogger Relations program, Nokia sold about 91.1 million phones 1Q 2007, Samsung and Nokia are working together on mobile television, etc.

I’ll cover these in depth later today.

For now … I need to finish this Red Bull.

One more thing: I will be in Spain next week for the S60 Summit. I will ferociously cover everything that happens there.
