Just came back from a podcast with Phil from the Voice of S60.

I got a nice little piece of information for you: touch screen support for S60 will be talked about at the summit!

No information yet as to details, time lines, devices, etc. All I know is that I’m going to be hearing about it tomorrow.

Wicked!

Interesting – looking forward to more details :)

Hmm… that title in my RSS reader got me excited, but of course then i read the post and i was deflated. I do hope there is a prototype device at least to accompany the talk.

“Touchscreen S60 phone” not Series 90. I once owned a 7710 actually for a few months and it had potential, but its was greatly crippled by its very very sluggish performance. So now that Nokia have implemented the S60 OS into their communicator range, namely the E90, i hope they can also turn out some S60 based touchscreen handsets in the near future.

Just imagine an E61i-esque phone with touchscreen from Nokia. Awesomeness.

The Lenovo one doesn’t really count in this case since it was mainly an Asian only oddity. lol

Now is time for the serious business.

For information, the 7700 is not a S60 device ;-)

True it’s not an S60 touchscreen, but it was a touchscreen Nokia device, which is all I stated. Personally, I’d like to see something in the exact form factor as the P910a, only running S60 and with updated features (3G, 3+MP cam, slimmer, etc)

Woottttt!!! =) I’m really excited… Can’t guess what an S60 touch interface will be like and whether the touch phones will keep all the buttons or not…
