Nokia and Dell rumored to partner in selling unlocked, unbranded smartphones and other products in the USWord on the street (from a Nokia insider) has it that Dell has recently inked a partnership with Nokia to sell the company’s popular smartphones, as well as accessories and other products. Dell has the power to leverage their market position in Nokia’s favor, and Dell could start to distribute unlocked, unbranded Nokia phones in the coming weeks. Nokia’s US presence has been somewhat lacking, but if this rumor pans out, Nokia can expect to see their US market-share increase dramatically.

This is an interesting move on Dell’s part. The online computer vendor recently killed their PDA line and was rumored to be collaborating with Quanta Computers to develop a Dell-branded Windows Mobile 6.0 smartphone – codenamed “Fly.” We’ll keep our ear to the grapevine on this one. More details as they emerge.
