Attila is a new author on All About Symbian and he just reviewed "Best Profiles" for S60 3rd Edition devices.

The concept is simple, here is a user scenario: I want my phone to automatically switch to silent at 08:00 and go back to general at 09:30 so that if someone were to call me in the middle of class my professor would not go berzerker.

Talk about something that should have built in from day 1!

What makes this issue even more aggravating is that this functionality is built into S40. I’ve spoken about this before, but there are a lot of things S40 has built in that S60 does not.

Add this to the list.

I think Nokia took the initiative to assume that s60 users would be smart enough (using SMARTphones) to remember to switch their profiles when necessary, but that’s just a guess on my part.

Though I don’t use it, I can definitely see advantages to such an application outside of the niche of forgetful people.
