I haven’t been myself this week, at all. I think I may have some sort of virus (mono?), but my throat has been sore and I’ve just been lethargic in general. Today I made my biweekly trip to this Saudi Arabian butcher in the heart of Dallas, TX. He loves me and my family since we always blow serious cash at his store. He imports various products from all over Europe and the Middle East, not to mention stocks some of the finest cuts of lamb and potent cheeses I’ve ever had the pleasure of tasting.

He sensed my raspy voice and asked if I was alright. I told him my symptoms and he nodded his head then grabbed a box off the shelf and told me to try this. I took his advice and holy shit I feel like a God right now. I’m extremely alert, my throat doesn’t hurt anymore and I’m so wired I feel like doing some laps!

If you’re in Dallas then check out World Foods Warehouse

Here is a picture of the tea:

Thank you. If I knew how to spell (much less pronounce!) your name I would have mentioned it. This post is dedicated to you!

(The tea is from Sri Lanka)

nice to hear that you are alright :)

Yes, black tea is the best sipping drink ever imho if made correctly, i.e. brewed the right way in a teapot using loose leaf tea and freshly boiling water, covered with a teacozy as it steeps. I personally use any strong strain Indian/Sri Lankan variety for body and flavour, and I mix it with a pinch of Earl Grey for aroma and zing. Ah Tea Leaf, you make me so happy. I am reminded of an apt song:

“My life was empty, forever on a down
Until you took me, showed me around
My life is free now, my life is clear
I love you sweet leaf, though you can’t hear”

    ;D
