Alltel’s takeover deal has attracted a few lawsuits. According to the Pueblo Cheiftan, the lawsuits are all related to the handling of the buyout. One lawsuit alleges that the shareholders are getting
shorted in this under-valued buyout deal. Another claims that special treatment will be given to those inside the company. The third suit says that the Alltel board did not make sound decisions on the financial future of the company.
Warren Stephens, of Stephens Inc., believes that the lawsuits will be found to have no grounds. And, barring any further hiccups in this deal, we should see this deal finalized in six to nine months.
