Well I’ll be damned! I usually use eBay to get my frequent Finnish fix, now I’m going to be knocking on Michael Dell’s door. Why didn’t Nokia or Dell mention this via press release?

This is the first step towards the destruction of the operator monopoly on devices. If Dell or Nokia or anyone for that matter began educating Americans that if you are a T-Mobile or AT&T customer you can use any GSM device you want, the mobile hardware ecosystem would boom. I’m tired of asking people what phone they have and hearing “Sprint.” I’m tired of people asking me when the Nokia N95 will be available from AT&T.

Break thru your shackles, tell your operator to shove that 2 year contract where last weeks cheeseburger is rotting. Go unlocked and unbranded, you have nothing to loose and everything to gain.

Actually I have my $35/mo unlimited everything plan to lose and why on earth would I want to pay more for a slower network? Not to mention the extra $400 price tag on the phone I would have to pay, so how exactly am I benefiting?

 Why is this a big deal??? The Nokia items STILL do not have tri-band 3G capability!!! Nokia is basically selling crippled products through Dell!!!! C’mon!!! When Nokia produces items that I can FULLY use on both sides of the pond THEN I’ll be excited!!!
