It seems Nokia India is making it easier for their Indian customers to check the status of their Matsushita-made BL-5C batteries. Customers can now send an SMS text message to “5555” with a text containing “BT” and the 26 digit battery serial number (with a space in between). Users can expect a response on their battery’s status within a couple of seconds.
Nokia has made available a website for you to check the battery serial number in your Nokia phone. For some reason, Nokia is only offering this SMS text message service in India – perhaps they think India is the only country that would benefit from an alternative option.
