Hanging mobile phone concept

Most mobile phones today look very similar — basically, there are few form factors like clamshell, slider and candybar with some variations. That’s probably the reason why designers are pushing the limits with their concepts. After all, who knows how will our beloved devices look within ten years.

Latest concept we’ve spotted is designed by Alec Wong & Donn Koh, and looks like those “do not disturb” signs that you hang outside your door at hotels. Beside the non-standard look, everything else is quite simple — there are 12 regular keys, the large round button/knob at the bottom (for navigation?) and a LED near the top. I find it interesting, although I doubt this is the phone of the future. Maybe specific purpose phone of the future, who knows… One more pic after the jump.
