Google Phone may get 3G GPhoneWe’re all eagerly awaiting Google’s entry into the mobile phone market. The near-mythical Google Phone (or GPhone, if you will) has spurred rumors and speculation from the get-go – and it looks like the rumor mill has been cranked back up.

Grapevine news has Google considering a 3G solution for the GPhone. We initially expected Google to go with an EDGE radio from Texas Instruments (TI) for their Google Phone, but they’re now said to be looking into 3G data speeds.

We’re still looking for HTC to handle the manufacturing of the GPhone, but we might even see a Google-developed OS to go heads-up with Windows Mobile and Symbian (not to mention Linux) platforms. A Google-branded Google Phone, made by HTC, rocking 3G and running Google Mobile? That would be a nice sub-$100 surprise indeed.
