Search on the desktop is far from perfect, search on the mobile is just a pain in the butt if you don’t know how to use Google properly. Taptu is a new search engine for mobile phones, currently in private testing, that finds relevance to the search queries you may have and presents information accordingly. What do I mean by that? Ricky from Symbian Guru posted a short review of the serivce, he did a search for some guy called “Jerry Jeff Walker.” Taptu figured out he was an artist and promptley displayed album art on top, links to his Wiki, song lyrcis, etc.
If you’re adapt at Google than Taptu may or may not be useful to you. Simply adding words such as “wiki” or “lyrics” after a search query usually makes Google get an idea of what it is you’re trying to find. Where Taptu provides value is the fact that it provides context. I can not give my honest opinion of the service since I have yet to try it, but I’ve emailed the guys over at Taptu and can hopefully provide you guys with a more comprehensive and stringent analysis of my own.
I have a Google Video shirt, a regular Google shirt and someone got me as a gag gift a pair of panties with the Google logo on it. That is how much I love search.
