If one of Verizon’s hottest handsets for this year is the LG Voyager, then the other badass on Verizon’s list is the LG Venus. With a dual-screen slider setup – one for seeing and one for touching – the LG Venus is definitely one unique slider.

Phone Arena got their hands on some more details about the LG Venus, and they’re looking good. The LG Venus rocks the same 2 inch, 320×240 pixel QVGA upper display as the LG VX8550 Chocolate, and supplements it with a 1.49 inch, 176×240 pixel touchscreen below it. The lower-screen serves as an “interactive menu” that replaces the LG Chocolate’s scroll wheel, and serves up task-specific icons to help you navigate through the phone’s functions. And, the music-centric LG Venus rocks a 2.0 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, Speakerphone, 3G (EVDO of course), and microSDHC card slot.

LG Venus gets more details

We also know that the LG Venus will be taller and wider than the LG Chocolate, but it’ll be thankfully slimmer. The dual-screened slider will come in your choice of Pink or Black and comes with an 800 mAh battery, AC charger, carrying pouch, USB 2.0 cable, and VCAST Music setup cd.

If the LG Venus tickles your fancy, expect to pony up $199 (after 2-year contract and $50 rebate) for a November 8 pre-order, with shipping set for November 19.

Does the Venus phone have a 2.5mm or a 3.5mm headphone jack?

  • summer

I was wanting to know if you can cotrol(dial numbers and text) the venus with the slider closed. Is there a full touch screen keyboard with numbers and letters?

    Thanks for all ur

  • Vamsi M.

u cant type or dial w/o the slide down number pad. the touch screen is just for quick access like a directional pad on most flip phones, venus is a great phone for music lovers, and voyager is only for texters who are sick of sidekicks and PDAs

The Venus is better for those who are not so worried about answering email son theirphone and such. The phone can dial w/o sliding it open, bu only those numbers already in the contact list. It is a great option if you dont want to pucker up $300 for a phone.

The Venus is a really good phone except for the fact that the sides scratch easily. Once it scratches starts to peel. Other then that, it a realy unique phone. I’m glad I got it. =]
