Why does the back of this E51 on Smape look different than the back of this E51 on Cell Addict? Multiple versions of the E51?

Version 2:

I much prefer the dotted metal look compared to the wavy line fashion reminiscent of the Nokia 9300, but how are consumers supposed to know which version they are purchasing?

The E51, for those who may be wondering, is an Eseries monoblock that has a 369 MHz ARM processor, 2 megapixel camera, quadband EDGE, 2100 MHZ HSDPA and WiFi running S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1. Full spec sheet is here.

    Dude,
there is only one versions of a nokia e51. The difference is because each color come with a different back design. For example the black come with doted back, silver comes with lines on the back so is the Copper one.

    Hope that clear the confusion.

Isn’t the back of version 2 just the battery? Looks like it.

Good call then. Any idea when the e51 will finally be released?

Since you’re chatting about the E51, I’ve just got one, and I needed to get the SIM out, so that I could put it back in my old phone to copy some numbers off.

The only way I could get it out was by digging into it with a small flat-head screwdriver.

Please tell me there is an easier way of removing the SIM card from this phone!

    Thanks!

    to myoomy:

Dude, I’ve just got e51 black with silver (metal) back, and it is dotted, not lined. When I was looking through all e51s I’ve seen many versions and some of them were dotted and other ones were lined even if all of them were black colored, so now I can say that the color of the corpus does not matter on the back side of the phone.

    To all,

dotted backs are much better! More stylish I’d say :)
