Samsung SGH-i607 BlackJack recalled on AT&THere’s another bit of bad-news to put a damper on the holiday spirits of all Samsung SGH-i607 BlackJack owners out there. In addition to still not having an official Windows Mobile 6.0 ROM upgrade, it seems that AT&T and Samsung is quietly recalling all BlackJacks manufactured between November 2006 and February 2007. Word comes from AT&T’s official support forums and points toward faulty antenna hardware. The antenna apparently works itself loose over time and causes wishy-washy signal strength and dropped calls.

Warranty centers have been advised of the recall, so if you’ve been noticing more than the usual amount of dropped calls and crap-for-reliability signal strength, hit up AT&T and see what you can get in the way of a replacement. But, don’t hold your breath for a new BlackJack with that WinMo6 ROM.

Well, now. That makes sense. I have been wondering why my Blackjack has gone from the best phone I’ve ever owned to the most frustrating piece of crap phone I’ve ever owned. Let’s see if AT&T can make it better.

I just finished speaking to AT&T concerning the exact same problem. My phone has a manfacturer’s date of 07.07, (After the listed date range). But I have the exact same problem (lots of dropped calls and degraded signal quality). I requested a replacement & AT&T is currently shipping me a replacement express over night.

    Hope this helps

 Hey guys don’t get your hopes up…Mine fell under that and was replaced…Not only do you have to get credits for every song and game you downloaded…IT DOESN”T HELP…I have dropped calls just as i had before with the replacement and people tell me they call me 20 times only to have it ring for 4 seconds on their end (not mine) and hang up on them…COME ON ATT you’re supposed to be the most reliable network…

i hav this SGH i607 that loses its signal an other phone hav all the bars
i just put it away an bought another phone..moto phone
it works fine…then i goggled this i607 an it said that their were issues with the antenna comin loose over time an it was quietly being recalled by samsung
i called ATT&T AN THEY SAID THEY’D REPLACE IT..but i told them the soft little rubber cover that covered the charging slot…was missing so they said my warrenty was not good anymore…if the cover was still there…they would hav sent me a new one…so i called samsung themselves …an they said they could update my software an thats the problem…but thats all they could do
i’d stay away from the samsung black jacks with that kinda service

While doing some research/problem solving I ran across this page.
I’m currently on my 3rd Blackjack
1st one was recalled, 2nd overheated to where it could have caused harm, now on my third, signal drop, poor service, locks itself in the middle of tasks, will not charge or sync up, adapter stopped working. AT&T refuses to help me, I can spend hours on the phone and nothing will amount to it.

I have been a customer with AT&Tsince 2004. I purchased a Samsung Impression on May 20, 2010, and the cell phone is out of contract about a little over three months. The phone has dropped calls, degraded signal, hard to texts people, and other things. I talked to an AT&T customer services, and because the my one year warrant is over they will not send me a new phone. I can’t get a new phone until my contract is up May 8, 2011. MOreover, I am thinking about going to a different cell phone company if this is not settlement.
