Samsung SGH-i640vEven though we’ve already seen a demo video of the Samsung i640v and even heard Vodafone saying it will launch the device as part of its Christmas collection, the Windows Mobile powered slider is still not available for purchase. As a matter of fact, it keeps occupying space on the “Coming soon” section of Vodafone’s website.

Now, we have a new piece of information suggesting the Big Red will be releasing Samsung’s slider smartphone as soon as possible. What this means is hard to tell, but considering the fact that today is December 23rd, I doubt we’ll see it hitting the store shelves before the new year. On the second thought, I don’t actually care much about this device. The lack of WiFi connectivity is a deal breaker for me…

I’ve had one from Vodafone since early Dec. You just need to phone up and ask. Sweet phone. Everyone that sees it goes ooooooh. I was woried about the keypad, being too small, but it works a treat, and get used to very quickly. Would not want to go back to an ordinary phone now. Even comes with two batteries, a slimeline (good for 3 days), and an extended (5-6 days).

Only downside is not having a standard headphone jack, but having to use the Samsung supplied one.
