Mobile phones linked to disturbed sleepThere’s a new study funded by mobile phone companies that suggests could stop you getting a decent night’s sleep. And to make the things worse, it’s not just insomnia radiation from the mobile phone can cause — it’s also a headache and/or confusion. This article has certainly caused the latter — the research is funded by the Mobile Manufacturers Forum. Are they suggesting we should drop our existing mobile phones and switch back to landlines?

Anyway, the scientists studied 35 men and 36 women aged between 18 and 45, and concluded that during laboratory exposure to 884 MHz wireless signals components of sleep believed to be important for recovery from daily wear and tear are adversely affected. Researcher Professor Bengt Arnetz said: “The study strongly suggests that mobile phone use is associated with specific changes in the areas of the brain responsible for activating and coordinating the stress system.” Luckily they haven’t forbid us use mobile phones as alarm clocks. :)

The "convergence" is what he's most excited about, and writing about it is the next logical thing to do. He thinks that using a smartphone is what everyone who cares about their time should do. In addition to his interests in mobile phones, Dusan also loves to experiment with the latest web and mobile 2.0 services. The idea of accessing and managing your information from any device no matter where you are simply amazes him. Whether it's an online to-do list, note taking service or a video sharing social network, he's there to try it out. He admits though, he's still searching for the ultimate web-based organizational tool, which "sings" perfectly with the mobile PIM application.
