In a short commercial portraying a scenario that would never happen in real life, a young woman is sitting one a bus enjoying her music when a charming charismatic gentlemen enters the vehicle and proceeds to sit in front of her. He puts his Sony Ericsson W890i up to her headphones and uses TrackID to find out what she is listening to. He then notices her book bag which has an insignia for the country of Spain. He loads up the PlayNow Arena pc application on his Sony Vaio, looks up the top 10 songs playing in Spain, downloads number 1, transfers it to his phone and here is the weird part, he disconnects the girls headphones from her Sony Ericsson and connects it to his.

Now call me old fashioned, but if a stranger touched my mobile there would be insults and fists flying through the air. Not to mention the probability that 2 people using Sony Ericsson devices sitting next to each other is less than 10% according to Sony Ericsson’s latest market share figures. Notice that black tumor like looking object? That is what they call an audio port. Yuck.

I actually think he’s pretty good at flirting. It’s not that weird to start flirting with a sranger, no? Although, shouldn’t the loudspeakers be activated if you pull the headphone jack out?

  • Stefan Constantinescu

No, that’s a Sony Ericsson (and Apple) feature. When you pull out the headphones the music pauses. Seems like Nokia needs to learn that lesson, how many times have you pulled out your headphones jut to fill up a small room with sound thanks to the loud as hell N95 speakers?

  • Adonisdemon

OK…Sony Ericsson needs to start hiring some good PR people, that advert sucks!

  • PlayerKill

    Stefan, I completely agree!!!

    Geek but sweet…

But then again, been there, done that.

LMAO at insults and fists when someone touches your phone, ditto. :D
