Straight from the rumor mill: Sony Ericsson to launch a new compact touch enabled line of phones to be called the G series. The first 2 devices will be the G900i (Codename: Tyra) and it will have a 2.6 inch screen, 5 megapixel camera and WiFi, the G700i (Codename: Josephine) is similar with a 2.6 inch screen and 3.2 megapixel camera, but no WiFi.

In the accessory department we can expect 2 data cards for notebooks, “deck stand”, M2 USB adapter (why?), Bluetooth Speakerphone for automotive use and a Bluetooth Stereo hands free device.

I hope the G900i uses the same chip-set as the K850i, allowing us to have quadband GSM and triband 3G. Looks promising, but given SE’s stupidity regarding which phones get which frequencies (W910 is quad, but the W960 is not!?) I wouldn’t hold my breath. I hope I’m wrong though -
