LG Scoop now available on Alltel; Heavy texters from rural areas rejoice

Back in January, Alltel announced it will roll out the full QWERTY keyboard equipped LG Scoop in the near future. Well, that day has come and now the device is available in Slate, Turquoise or Citrus colors.

Aside from the full keyboard paired with the chat-style text messaging client that will make anyone a savvy texter, there’s nothing special about the Scoop. The 1.3 MP camera along with Bluetooth connectivity support and an MP3 player software sound so last yearish. But then again, you shouldn’t expect much more for $59.99 after all the discounts and rebates, and with an appropriate plan…

    This phone is also available for Sprint. It is known as the Rumor rather then the Scoop. It has different color variants like Black with a Blue keyboard, Green with a white keyboard, and Pearl white all around.

    i have the lg rumor in green it is cool but the backrounds are really bad now i want the lg scoop i txt so much so it makes it easier with the qwerty keyboard

    i’m getting this phone in September cause we went with centennial and it SUCKED.
    so yeah, i’m getting the blue one.
    it’s my boyfriends favorite color, and i LOVE blue. :)

    im getting this phone too!! it should be arriving here friday.. monday at the latest. i read another website that said this phone is horrible at getting a good signal and the picture quality isnt that good. but the review about the poor signa was only from one lady so it might just be the area shes in. im so excited to get it!!!

    To make ringtones from your audio files:

    1) Choose “multimedia” from your main menu.
    2) Go to number 7 (Shuffle) and choose “ringtone list”.
    3) You’ll need to select “add” with your left soft key, then add AT LEAST 2 audio files. It won’t work unless you select at least 2.
    4) After this, select “options” with your right soft key and pick “settings” from the list. You’ll need to toggle the “All Calls” setting to ON.
    There you have it…audio files as ring tones. It will shuffle back and forth between the audio files you add to your list. If you only want one ringtone, save the audio file you want as two different names and add those. It will think it’s shuffling between two ringtones, when it’s actually the same one. There’s a great video on YouTube that will walk you through this if my directions are too confusing :) Good luck!

    the keyboard on the soop freezes alot and after awhile it will just stop working i have had 4 of them.

    i have had like 6 of them cause they all suck
    i say dont get them
    my sister has one too
    they freeze up all the time
    and turn off on their self
    you cant get free ringtones or
    set audios as ringtones..
    its not a good phone at all
    id prefer any phone over it

    This phone sucks!! i have had 3 because the keyboard is always messed up. it is very slow at a lot of things. i don’t hardly have signal anywhere!! if you are a guy wanting to get the phone, i would recommend you get something else because the backgrounds are mainly for girls… i have had a lot of problems with the alltel LG scoop!!

    I hope to get this awesome phone in August……..which is my bday. It sucks I have 2 wait 3 months…….but oh well. As long as I get it at all I’m happy. The sad thing is I’ve read mixed opinons about this phone, like how there are a bunch of problems with the phone after awhile……while other people say they’ve had no problem with it. I am going to get it in orange, though, cuz its my fave color!
