Here’s a look at what Qualcomm had to offer at Mobile World Congress 2008. The most interesting thing at Qualcomm’s booth was their passive, low-power displays. The eInk-esque displays relied on reflective technology to save power by not actively powering a display backlight. The dislpays had decent refresh rates and the booth rep even mentioned gaming applications of the technology were possible. Low-light performance was impressive. Definitely an interesting technology, although, we’d rather save power with an AMOLED display.
