
LG had a strong first quarter this year with a 35.7% increase in handset sales totaling $3.346 billion for the number 5 handset maker. A new personal record for the company has also been reached with 24.4 million devices shipped, of that the emerging countries in the Asian and Middle East regions accounted for a 36% quarter on quarter increase in devices purchased while the USA and Korea were closer to 18%.
