British jewellery retailer Fameo goes mobileEveryone’s going mobile nowadays and jewellers are not an exception. UK-based Fameo launched what seems as the first British mobile jewellery catalogue to allow anyone with web-enabled mobile phone to browse and search their offers, monitor order status, research information and get customer service — all while on-the-go. In addition, Fameo’s mobile website provides users with SMS alerts for the latest jewellery arrivals, price changes and special promotions.

Our congrats go to Fameo’s management who as far as we understood won’t stop here. They plan to build a WAP-based jewellery shopping portal which would actually allow users to shop on the go, as well as compare prices for loose diamonds and colour gemstones via SMS. All this is followed by Fameo’s mobile marketing campaign called the “Jewellery that fits your phone screen.” Nice!

The idea of accessing and managing your information from any device no matter where you are simply amazes him. Whether it's an online to-do list, note taking service or a video sharing social network, he's there to try it out. He admits though, he's still searching for the ultimate web-based organizational tool, which "sings" perfectly with the mobile PIM application. Dusan used to run SymbianWatch.com which later became part of IntoMobile. He lives in Serbia, South-East Europe, from where he edits the site on a daily basis.
