HTC doesn’t see the more affordable yet more powerful iPhone 3G as a threat. The company’s CEO Peter Chou said Apple’s new handset will have “limited impact” on HTC’s sales.

HTCMobile operators around the world are offering HTC smartphones with subsidy and most devices are priced bellow $200. Some operators go even further, offering select HTC smartphones for free on a contract.

In fact, Chou stated they welcome the competition from Cupertino, stating the smartphone market is still a large market and there’s room for everyone.

I wouldn’t be that optimistic. Some carriers in Europe will also offer the iPhone for free and in the markets where iPhone will be offered, I can easily see HTC having problems to sell enough Diamonds.

As far as I’m concerned, iPhone’s problem remains in the lack of Copy/Paste feature and proper Bluetooth support. Fix those two and I’ll rave about Apple just like all those fan-boys. ;)

I don’t think HTC has a whole lot to worry about. Sure there are alot of iPhone fans out there but there are just as many iPhone haters too. HTC has a fantastic line of devices so far and with the Diamond and Touch Pro becomeing available soon, their sales have nowhere to go but up!

Dont worry HTC! I’m rooting for you! :D

All I gotta say is, you get what you pay for. The iPhone is a wonderful device but it CAN’T compare to Windows Mobile devices. Definitely can’t compare as a whole to the new HTC devices coming. The features the were just added to the iPhone (GPS, 3G, whatever else) have been around for a long time and is nothing new to smartphones. I wouldn’t even say the iPhone is a smartphone; more like a Nintendo wii of phones. While Windows mobile devices are like Xbox 360s and PS3s. Yeah, they’re the hottest thing being talked about, but they don’t compare once you go head to head on features, apps, etc.

The iPhone does have a nice web browser though

I think iPhone has its unique selling point for Apple fans that HTC will have no way to stop them from queuing for the device. Yet iPhone also is a pro & con for many other WM user that will be sick of Apple’s proprietary OS that user can only play with the set rule that we get bore few days later after their buck is out.
Besides the added 3G and GPS will definitely bite your wallet soon after you use it and what is the worse it that you can’t show off to peels who had 2G iPhone unless you tell them you had turbo engine in it, what a waste of $ buying accessory without be able to show.

No worry to WM user, I mean HTC fan.
    Cheers mate!
